Studio Ghibli

Founder Hayao Miyazaki brought some of the best Japanese movies known to the anime community and internationally.

 

Studio Ghibli’s first film was 1986 with Castle in the Sky, followed by My Neighbor Totoro and Grave of the Fireflies. In 1997, Miyazaki’s movie, Princess Monoake, won the Japan Academy Prize for Picture of the year.
