Top 3 Favorites Films
Miyazaki created great movies that can be enjoyed for the years to come. Here, I will list my top 3 personal favorites.
3. Kiki’s Delivery Service
Kiki’s Delivery Service is about a young witch who takes up a new job at a new town. During the movie, she builds relationships with soon-to-be mother and a younger boy her age. She owns a black called named Jiji. She is shocked to one day finds out she cannot talk with it anymore. From this she seeks to find purpose and balance in her new life so she can regain her powers.
2. Howl’s Moving Castle
Young hat maker, Sophie, is turned to an old lady by the Witch of the Waste. She leaves her life to move to the countryside. Upon her travel she meets a live scarecrow who leads her to the castle of owner Howl. She takes up the job as a maid and is soon entangled in Howl’s mess of rejecting his part in a raging war that leads them both to try and break a curse placed on him. Cursed to be an old lady, Sophie’s determination to save Howl is key to resolving the war and their own lives.
1. Spirited Away
The story revolves around a young girl name Chihiro who is separated from her parents while driving to their new house. Chihiro realizes that she and her parents have entered the spirit world once she sees that they have been turned to pigs. She meets a boy named Haku who helps her find work and is directed to a bathhouse. One day she sees a dragon being attacked and hurt only to find out it’s Haku. Haku remains unconscious so she ventures out to break the curse placed on him by a witch, while making new friends along the way.
